Using Poorman's CMS

Using Poorman's CMS is straightforward.  Administrative chore is handled through web forms. Webcontent is managed via a MSWord like editor. Advanced users can edit the HTML code directly, and can use server side include to handle those HTML elements the WYSIWYG editor doesn't understand (like image map, ssi, flash etc).

Please note that EID authentication is required to use Poorman's CMS.

Steps to use Poorman's CMS

  1. Create a new website use this link,  After you fillin and submit the form, the directory index file index.html will be created. This will be the home page of your site, the "Home" link on the sidebar will bring your visitor back to this page.
  2. Once you've succesfully created your site, you can then add more pages and folders to your site using the admin screen. Use the WYSIWYG editor to add/edit the content of your pages.
  3. The left navigation sidebar and the top menubar are self organized. If you choose to manually maintain them, you can do so by using the relevent links on the admin screen.
  4. If you wish, you can use the the system as a development platform, and publish only when you are satisfied with your site.  To achieve this, use the "generate static hml"  button on the admin screen to generate static HTML files for your site, and publish the link it produces.
Remember, the "last updated" link on the footer is your gateway to the admin screen and the WYSIWYG editor.
