Hi All,
I've developed some new features for webcal for use at my university.
Basically it integrates PAM based authentication and local account
creation using mysql to keep it organized. I'm testing it internally
right now and so far so good.
I basically have it set up so users can just login and autocreate
will take care of them at login. However, arbitrary users cannot
create calendars from the signup page. That is, if you're not already
in the DB, you are not allowed access, but autocreation will proceed.
We have a NIS domain here so I use the DB to isolate our dept. from
other depts. and as a source of information for the getinfo function,
addressbook hooks are yet to be done. The DB is generated by a phone
list from my dept.I then used Perl to turn this into the SQL entries
that go with the table I defined.
I'm pretty busy right now with school so I won't be releasing this
until the end of April. I just wanted to let everyone know so maybe I
could save someone else a lot work in the meanwhile. This work is
against 2.9.3. I am also planning to make it so that virtual groups
can be treated like meeting groups for the purposes of scheduling. I
don't understand why it isn't like this to begin with. Maybe I'm just
doing it wrong. Thank you for your attention.
