Thanks for the explanation.

FWIW I think it would be wise to use fpprintprec as a control for BOTH
floats and bigfloats, since I cannot envision a time when I would
willingly drop sig figs in the output of a bigfloat which I wouldn't be
willing to drop in the output of a float.
