Could you revert this change?  This file basically comes from f2cl, and
I'd like maxima's version to be identical to f2cl's version.  If you
think the change is a good idea, file a bug report to f2cl so I can
change it there. 

I intended, someday, to support those options as much as possible, so
leaving them there is a gentle reminder to me that things need to be
done. :-)
