LaTeX time!

Obtaining LaTeX.

To install LaTeX for...

Once you have LaTeX installed, you'll need a program to actually write your LaTeX code in:

Sample Document.

The following sample document is a slightly embellished version of one given to me by Jeff Meier (a previous TA for this course):

How do I write this symbol?

LaTeX is pretty intuitive, so your first guess is often correct. If that fails, Detexify is a brilliant tool that I am sure you will become familiar with.

How do I do X?

It is unlikely that you will be the first person to have ever had a particular problem. Thus, for most troubleshooting and how-to guides, Google is your friend.

William and I are also both willing to help you with any LaTeX problems you encounter: we both have a decent amount of experience writing in LaTeX (and a great deal of experience using Google).
