We will be using moodle to organize the course.

You can browse the actual class notes of the course without enrolling.

Syllabus

We will cover the basics of groups and fields leading to Galois theory
and other selected topics as time permits.

Homework

Homework assignments are posted on the course website on a weekly basis.
They will be due at the indicated dates at the beginning of the class.
Selected problems will be graded. No late homework will be accepted.

Tests

There will be one 50 min in-class test on:

March 3, 2009

and a Final comprehensive exam.

Course Grade

The course grade will be computed as follows:

30%: Homework
30%: Test
40%: Final

B 75
C 60
D 45
