Literacy Seminar in Geometry and Topology

Class MWF 2:00-3:00 pm in Room: RLM 11.176

Office Hours MW 3-4 pm (subject to change) in RLM 10.168

Course description: Each student will give three presentations to the class (each preceded by a practice talk) and discuss each presentation with the instructor before and after. Each student will also hand in a commentary or reaction to each paper being presented of approximately half a page in length. The primary aim of the class is to help students learn to present mathematical research in a polished and effective manner, and to learn all of the resources available to them in tackling a paper.
Prerequisite By invitation only.

Please upload your commentaries on each of the papers at this link. You should also bring a hard copy to class. The commentaries are to be between a half page and a single page. Once you upload your commentary on a paper, you will have access to those of your classmates.
